Record Season Powers Wheatland’s Lily Anderson Past 2,000 Career Points
Wheatland junior Lily Anderson surpassed 2,000 career points during the 3A basketball state tournament last month. She accomplished the feat in the 3A consolation game on March 14, 2026, at Casper College. Anderson scored 34 points in a 60-48 victory that helped the Bulldogs win the consolation trophy. She became the sixth girls’ basketball player in state history to eclipse the 2,000-point mark, and Anderson has one more high school season remaining.
Lily Anderson Joins the 2,000 Point Club
Anderson enjoyed an historic 2025-26 season. The junior scored a state record 807 points. She was the first girl to score 800 or more points in state history and only the fifth player overall to reach that mark. She broke the single-season record set by Lauren Olsen from Douglas last year (781). On her way to the new single-season mark, Anderson also became the sixth girls’ player to score 50 or more points in a single game. Lily had a 50-point outburst against Rawlins. She also had games with 45 and 41 points, respectively, during the 2026 season. Against Newcastle, Anderson knocked down 9 three-pointers, which is tied for the fourth-most in a single game. Her 281 field goals made in the season were good for the second-most, behind Olsen’s 298 last year. She made 19 field goals in the 50-point game versus Rawlins. That’s tied for the fourth-most in one game in girls’ basketball history.

Anderson has sights set on the record
Lily is now at 2,012 career points. That is good for fifth all-time. With another good season as a senior, Anderson has a shot to pass Olsen as the state’s all-time leading scorer. Lauren’s record is 2,690 career points. She will need 679 to pass the record, which is the most all-time, boy or girl.
Congratulations to Lily on passing 2,000 points and counting!
