World Naked Gardening Day Is Saturday, May 6, 2017 (the first Saturday of May).

“People across the globe are encouraged, on the first Saturday of May, to tend their portion of the world's garden unclothed as nature intended.” World Naked Gardening Day (WNGD)

From some of those who brought us Nude & Natural Magazine and World Naked Bike Ride Day, came World Naked Gardening Day. A lighthearted project of Body Freedom Collaborative. Mark Storey had an idea of guerrilla gardening where you get people hopping out of a van and start tending Mother Nature’s flora.

In 2005 Mark and others dropped the idea of WNGD on the world, started a website and then stepped back to see if it would grow organically. It has. Now in it’s 13th year, this Saturday is that day, but as I write this, there is still snow on the ground here in Wyoming, yet by this weekend, we could be back in the 70s as we were a few weeks back.

They say: “Families can rake leaves in their back yard. Freehikers can pull invasive weeds along their favorite stretch of trail. More daring groups can make rapid clothes-free sorties into public parks to do community-friendly stealth cleanups.”
