Colorado Rescue Needs Foster Homes for Over 80 Labrador Dogs

It's alarming when you hear that over 80 Labrador retriever dogs need help. Lucky for those dogs, there are lots of generous dog lovers in Colorado.

Mile High Lab Mission, an organization based in Denver, put out the word that they were bringing lots and lots of Labrador retriever and Lab mixes to Colorado. However, they need help to do this, including plenty of foster homes to house the new pups. Fostering is a great way to get a temporary dog fix and help these innocent pups out. Daily, we are forced to turn away a huge number of great dogs from high-kill shelters, because we don't have enough foster homes to accommodate them. Many of the dogs would be highly adoptable and would probably be placed quickly, but without the foster openings we must turn them away.

Please consider fostering, even if only for one time. Maybe you could only do it for a few nights. If you have friends that are thinking about getting a dog, fostering would be a good first step for them. If you know people love dogs but travel too much or don't want to make a long term commitment, fostering might be a very satisfying alternative.

The Labrador retriever breed dates back to the when Europoean settlers first cultivated them around 1830. They are known to be a great family dog, are good to train and provide incredible disability assistance and have a soft mouth for bird hunting. Plus, their sweet, round faces and slobbery kisses are incredibly irresistible. According to Wikipedia, they "are one of the most popular dog breeds in a number of countries in the world."
