If you had Mr. Dubois, I hope you learned your lesson…. and I’ll bet you did.

For 37 years, William “Bill” Dubois taught American and Frontier history in Cheyenne’s Carey Junior High and Central High schools.

Monday night, July 10, Bill was unanimously approved as Cheyenne’s official historian laureate, just in time for the City’s 150th Anniversary

“Be it resolved by the governing body of the City Of Cheyenne, Wyoming, that local historian and resident William “Bill” Dubois is hereby officially designated as the City Of Cheyenne’s official historian laureate in conjunction with the City’s 150th Anniversary celebration in 2017.”

Dubois was the founding Chairman of the Cheyenne Frontier Days Old West Museum, as well as many other local historical organizations.

“Bill first volunteered at Frontier Days as a boy helping his father. Since then, he has served on a number of the events committees. In fact, the rodeo couldn’t start without him — he has opened each performance for more than 30 years by singing the National Anthem.”

Cheyenne is better off because of Bill Dubois, and that says a lot about a man.
