Blake Shelton Back as ‘The Voice’ Season 17 Coach

Blake Shelton and fellow The Voice coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and John Legend will all return as coaches for the show's 17th season, NBC announced on Friday (May 10). Additionally, Carson Daly is also set to act as host for the upcoming season of the televised singing competition.

Shelton and Levine are the show's two veteran coaches, who have appeared on The Voice since it launched in 2011. Meanwhile, Season 17 will mark Clarkson's fourth time in the coach's seat, and Legend's second.

"With a group this nice, we HAD to do it twice!" the show shared on Instagram. "It's official, all four of our incredible Coaches will be returning next season on The Voice!"

In its current season, The Voice's next episode (May 13) will feature performances from its Top 8 contestants, five of which come from Shelton's team. Levine's team was entirely wiped out in the previous episode, with just two performers from Clarkson's team and one performer from Legend's team remaining.

Meanwhile, Shelton recently released "God's Country," the first single from a forthcoming new album. When he shared the new track, the country star explained that for him, "God's Country" is both personally meaningful and speaks to a universal experience. "No matter where you are from, our where you're standing, it is my belief that you're standing in God's country. For me, it's about being from Oklahoma -- where I was born, raised and still live today," he said in a press release.
